G. Patoulis , in Mumbai representing the Local Government in the largest Tourism Exhibition in Asia
G. Patoulis traveled to India, representing the Greek Local Government at the “International Outbound Travel Mart” in Mumbai, where Central Union of Municipalities of Greece participates in cooperation with the Greek Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Tourism.
The Greek delegation is also attended by the Mayor of Milos and President of the Tourism Development Committee of Central Union of Municipalities of Greece G. Damoulakis and the Director of Advertising and Marketing of EOT K.Meimaroglou.
In the context of the exhibition, Mr. Patoulis had a series of contacts with prominent political and self-government officials in India.
In particular, he held a working meeting with the Minister of Tourism Minister of Maharashtra, the largest federal state of India with a population of 95 million Jaykumar Rawal and the Managing Director of the State Tourism Organization, V. Waghmare.
At the heart of the discussion were the ways of cooperation between the two countries, with the vehicle of the Local Government, in order to enhance the visibility of Greek tourism products, with emphasis on Health Tourism, an area where there are significant growth prospects in order to contribute to the restart of our national economy.
At the same time, he met with the President of the Union of Municipalities of India, V. Suresh, discussing the possibility of launching fruitful self-government synergies between the two countries and exchanging best practices for the benefit of local communities.
Mr Patoulis stated: “In the context of the initiatives taken by Central Union of Municipalities of Greece to strengthen the outward-looking nature of our country, the Greek Local Government is giving a dynamic presence here in Mumbai, one of the largest Tourism Exhibitions in Asia.
Our participation in this great event marks the willingness of the Local Government to actively contribute, with concrete initiatives, to the economic and social strengthening of local communities. We will continue to work with a plan and vision to win the bet of growth with reforms based on the decentralization of resources and responsibilities to the Local Government.
Recognizing the enormous strength of the Greek tourism product and the benefits of enhancing entrepreneurship, our goal is to promote the wealth of our country abroad and to turn global interest towards Greece “.
