Conference on Health Tourism In Greece, London, November, 23 2018

Greece of extroversion and development, was highlighted at London School of Economics, on November 23, by the distinguished speakers who participated in the Conference on Health Tourism in Greece.

The Conference, organized by International Health Tourism Center (IHTC) and the Hellenic Medical Society UK, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, the Athens Medical Association, the Central Union of Greek Municipalities, the Hellenic Medical Council Tourism and the Global Greek Doctors’ Institute.

There were distinguished personalities from the academic, scientific and business community, as well as from health and tourism sectors, from Greece and United Kingdom, representatives of Greek communities, Greek Medical Associations, health and tourism professionals, representatives of the International and domestic SMEs, University students, etc.

As pointed out, the Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises, based on the data gathered by the Bank of Greece, this year estimates an increase of 8-9% in the arrivals of tourists in our country. At the same time, receipts from travel services are expected to increase by 8% to close to 15.8 billion euros.

The beginning of the Conference was held by Giorgos Patoulis, President of I.H.T.C., President of G.G.D.I, President of Athens Medical Association, President of ELITOUR, President of Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, Mayor of Maroussi.

Mr. Patoulis stated: “Greece, the home of Hippocrates and Asclepius, could claim a significant share of health tourism in the world market, as it is the ideal combination of factors that meet international demands for the development of this new and rapidly growing world economy. That is why we have been taking initiatives for a long time, creating the appropriate bodies, encouraging all such activity and activating all the forces of Hellenism
